Sponsor Marissa for the April 17th, 2010 Art-a-Thon! "Dear Friends and Family - thanks for checking out my Art-a-thon Sponsorship Page. For a cause I care about, I hope you will sponsor me - Marissa Kunz - for 10-Hour Art-Making-Marathon-Glory! I am hereby announcing the launch of my 3-pronged campaign to get as many people to sponsor me as possible - and you are my target! Prong 1: I am resorting to BRIBES. ALL of my sponsors will get a piece of art I make that day! (p.s. a piece of art with a 32.98% chance that you might actually like it) (p.p.s. and I won't mail you impaled Jell-O, unless you really really really wanted some.)
Prong 2: I will try to talk some sense into you: "Come on, I know you can at least throw me $1 per hour! For a hand-made bribe and an excuse to support a good cause, that's the bargain of the century. You'd be silly not to sponsor me. In fact, you'd be silly not to send this link to YOUR friends so they can help YOU sponsor me too."
Prong 3: (and then it gets ugly) If that doesn't work, I'll probably resort to grovelling and pestering as event day nears. Let's hope it doesn't get down to that. I really want this year's ArtSeed summer camp (that I am personally leading) to be free to more kids!
How it works: Art-a-thoners volunteer their time on April 17th, 2010 to help raise funds for a cause they believe in: Art Education! Funds raised will go to scholarships for youth to ArtSeed's 2010 Fine Arts Summer Intensive and Artist Apprenticeship Program. Both programs connect youth with artists in a collaborative studio setting with emphasis on long term one-to-one mentorships. You can sponsor your art-a-thoner by pledging any dollar amount for each hour he/she can make art on April 17th (a maximum of 10 hours).
To sponsor a participant, email them directly (vanilla_yeehaa@yahoo.com) and include:
1. your pledge amount per hour (example: $1 per hour) or flat rate pledges are also welcome. 2. your name 3. email address and/or phone number 4. mailing address.
Pledge for $1 per hour on up. No amount too small or too big! After the event, ArtSeed will send you a letter to redeem the promised tax-deductable donation based on hours completed. Thank you for making a difference!
